Blanco Driveway & Pavers: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
If you have a Blanco paver driveway, walkway, or patio surface in Los Angeles and a section has failed, lifted, cracked, or sunk, the fix usually runs $826 to $2,124 per section for teardown, base correction, and re-installation with matched pavers. We stock Blanco-compatible pavers and matching joint sand on our trucks, so most single-section repairs are done in one visit. The part most homeowners call about isn’t actually the paver itself – it’s the base layer underneath, which fails first in LA’s shrink-swell clay soils and lets the surface pavers shift out of place.
We’re an independent Los Angeles contractor, not a Blanco factory outlet. That means we’re free to pair your existing Blanco pavers with either OEM replacements or a quality aftermarket equivalent that matches the color, thickness, and chamfer without locking you into one supplier’s price.
Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco’s paver line isn’t like their kitchen sinks, where a model number is stamped on every unit. Pavers are sold in series – the most common in LA are the Blanco Holland Stone (60mm and 80mm), Blanco Plank Pavers (600mm x 300mm), and the Blanco Cobble series (30mm and 60mm). If you don’t know your series, measure the paver: 60mm thickness means it’s driveway-rated for vehicle loads; 30mm is pedestrian-only and should never be used where a car parks, which is one of the most frequent failures we see in older Los Angeles driveways.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha nobody warns you about: Blanco changed their paver chamfer profile around 2019. Newer Blanco pavers have a slightly tighter edge radius than older lots of the same series, so a patch of new pavers laid against a 2015 driveway can show a visible shadow line at every joint. We keep our eye on that and match edge profile, not just color code, when we source replacements. For OEM Blanco parts, expect a 7 – 10 day lead time and a 15 – 20% price premium over a matched aftermarket equivalent. For most LA driveways, a quality aftermarket paver in the same color blend and thickness is indistinguishable once installed and costs less.
We also regularly work with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone products on broader remodeling projects, so if your driveway repair turns into a bigger conversation about the house, we can handle that too.

Signs Your Blanco Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Pavers rocking or wobbling underfoot. That’s almost never a paver problem – it’s the bedding sand below it that has washed out through a failed edge restraint or a cracked paver. The paver is now sitting on three points instead of a full bed, and it will crack next.
- Tree-root humps lifting a section. Los Angeles ficus and sycamore roots run shallow and push pavers upward in a dome shape. The pavers themselves are usually fine, but the compacted base beneath is no longer uniform, so a simple paver swap won’t hold – the root zone needs a root barrier or the section needs to be re-graded around it.
- Wide, uneven joints between pavers. Joint sand doesn’t just fill gaps – it locks the pavers together so they can’t shift laterally. When LA’s winter rains wash sand out of the joints, the pavers start to creep, and the driveway edge spreads by an inch or more over a season.
- Oil or radiator fluid staining etched into the surface. Blanco concrete pavers are dense but not sealed. Vehicle fluids penetrate and chemically break down the surface binder, leaving soft, pitted spots that then chip at the edges. A stained paver is often a structurally weakened paver.
- A sunken low spot where water pools. In Los Angeles, this is usually a base compaction failure – the original install either didn’t use a mechanical plate compactor or the native soil below the base settled after a few wet winters. Pooling water accelerates joint sand loss, which accelerates everything else. It’s a loop that doesn’t fix itself.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Blanco paver repair or replacement in Los Angeles, here’s what the installed numbers look like:
- Single-section paver repair (raise, re-bed, re-install, re-sand): $826 – $2,124
- Partial driveway re-pave (up to 200 sq ft, new base, new pavers): $2,950 – $5,310
- Full Blanco paver driveway installation: $8,260 – $21,240
The range exists because two driveways that look identical can be built on very different ground. A poured concrete slab under old pavers is fast and clean to work from. A raw dirt base with tree roots, buried downspout lines, or clay that’s been shifting for a decade takes real prep before the first paver goes down. You get a written price before any work starts – not a verbal estimate, not a range that grows at the end. Parts and labor are separated on the quote, and every job is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it fails within a year of completion, we come back and fix it at no cost.
DIY or Call Us?
Pavers are one of the friendlier outdoor surfaces to work on, and there are a few things any homeowner can safely check. You can pull a loose paver, look at the bedding sand beneath it, and hose-test a low spot to see where water is going. You can snap a photo, measure the paver thickness with a ruler, and send it to us so we can quote from the photo before a visit. What we don’t recommend is re-compacting a sunken section with a rented plate compactor on a slope, cutting pavers with a gas saw as a first-timer, or laying new pavers over a failed base and hoping for the best – that last one turns a $1,000 repair into a $6,000 rebuild a year later.

FAQs

Blanco concrete pavers in the LA climate typically last 20 – 30 years on the surface, but the base underneath them is the real clock – most driveways need some base correction at the 10 – 15 year mark, whether the pavers look fine or not. Call (213) 632-5711 if you’re seeing movement, and we’ll tell you whether it’s a paver issue or a base issue before anyone quotes a price.
No – a cracked paver is replaced, not glued. Concrete pavers carry load through the full thickness of the unit, so a crack means the structural integrity is gone and that paver will keep breaking up under vehicle weight. The good news is a single paver swap with matched color and edge profile is the least expensive repair on this page, and we do them in under two hours.
A single-section Blanco paver repair in Los Angeles is typically done in one visit, usually 2 – 4 hours on site. A partial driveway re-pave takes one to two days, and a full driveway installation runs three to five days depending on base prep and drainage work. Call (213) 632-5711 and we’ll give you a straight answer for your specific job.
We carry common Blanco-compatible pavers, edge restraints, and polymeric joint sand on our trucks for standard repairs. For exact OEM Blanco series pavers or uncommon color blends, we order direct and typically have them in hand in 7 – 10 days. Either way, we confirm the match – color, thickness, and edge profile – before we quote, so there are no surprises when the pavers land.
