Toto Fence Installation: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

Toto fence installation in Los Angeles typically runs $4,130 to $10,620 installed, depending on fence length, post spacing, and whether we’re replacing an existing run or starting fresh. Most Toto-compatible fence jobs in the LA area are completed within one to three days once materials are on site. You’ll usually know the fence section needs attention when posts start leaning after a rain, panels rattle in the wind, or the gate no longer latches square. Our technicians stock common Toto-compatible fence components on the truck, so we can often handle a partial repair or full panel replacement on the first visit.

Which Toto Models This Applies To

If you have a Toto fence or gate system, the hardware and mounting points are specific to how Toto engineered the connection between the fence panel, the post, and the gate hinge assembly. Toto fence hardware uses a modular bracket design rather than a simple lag-bolt mount, which means the spacing between post and panel matters more than on a generic vinyl or aluminum fence. The practical takeaway: a panel that looks “close enough” from a big-box store often sits a quarter-inch proud of the post, and that quarter-inch is where wind finds its leverage.

To identify what you need, look for the small rectangular manufacturer label printed on the inside face of the post cap or on the bottom rail. The model line, panel width (most common are 6-foot and 8-foot sections), and post profile are printed there. If the label is sun-faded or painted over, measure the distance between the post’s interior mounting channels, not the outside faces. We install both OEM Toto components and quality aftermarket equivalents, with one rule: if the part affects how the gate hangs or how the panel locks to the post, we recommend OEM. The aftermarket brackets we’ve tested across Los Angeles jobs don’t always hold factory spacing after a full summer of heat expansion.

Mason Remodeling Co Los Angeles is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with Toto. We do, however, install enough Toto hardware to know where the tolerances live. We also stock parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone projects.

Signs Your Toto Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Gate drags or won’t latch. This almost always traces to the hinge post drifting out of plumb, usually because the concrete footer was poured too shallow for the post height. A dragging gate stresses the hinge brackets, and every slam pushes the post further out of square.
  • Panels rattle against the posts. The Toto bracket system uses a friction channel with a set screw. Once that set screw loosens, the panel slaps the post in gusts and the bracket ears start to wear from the inside.
  • Post caps crack or displace after heat. Los Angeles UV exposure cycles expand and contract the post caps. A cracked cap lets water into the post channel, and now the set screw is rusting and the panel is starting to bind.
  • Fence line looks wavy from the street. That wave usually means mixed post depths along the run. The installer chased a utility line or hit rock and set a post shallow. It holds for a season, then the soil settles and the post cants.
  • Bottom rail sags between posts. Toto bottom rails are engineered to span a set distance. If a previous owner incorrectly swapped in a longer panel, or if the rail was cut too long, it flexes and eventually cracks at the stress point near the bracket.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A remodeled primary bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower

In Los Angeles, a Toto-compatible fence installation or full replacement typically lands between $4,130 and $10,620. Material and labor are broken out separately on every written quote, which is the way it should be. A short ornamental run with two gates is at the lower end; a full perimeter with multiple post cores to pour or replace is at the upper end.

What moves the number: total linear feet, post depth and footer condition, how many gate assemblies are involved, whether we need to core out old concrete from existing post sleeves, and access for digging. We don’t bury markup inside a single lump sum. You receive a written line-item price before any work begins, every time. The workmanship is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise, meaning if the install isn’t right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you.

DIY or Call Us?

There are things you can safely check: is the gate hinge bracket loose at the post, is the set screw backed out, is the post cap cracked and letting water in. Tightening a set screw and replacing a post cap are reasonable homeowner jobs, if you have the right hex size and the post is still plumb.

Where we’d stop you is anything involving pulling a post, pouring a new footer, or re-hanging a heavy gate assembly. That’s real weight on a hinged point, and a gate that breaks free swings hard. Post extraction also tends to find irrigation lines and low-voltage wiring in Los Angeles yards, sometimes where nobody expects them. If you’re not sure which situation you’re in, call (213) 632-5711 and describe what the fence is doing. We’ll tell you straight whether it’s a wrench job or a crew job, and you won’t get a hard sell either way.
