Toto Driveway & Pavers: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
If you own a Toto product tied into your driveway or paver hardscape in Los Angeles, you need the right replacement part matched to your exact setup and installed by someone who knows how these components fail in our climate. Typical installed pricing for Toto-compatible driveway and paver work in Los Angeles runs $826 – $21,240 depending on whether you’re looking at paver driveway installation, concrete driveway work, or a full paver patio, with most same-visit part swaps and smaller paver repairs landing under $1,200. Homeowners usually figure out something’s wrong the same way every time: a paver cracks or sinks after rain, the driveway edge starts crumbling where it meets the curb, or a Toto drain channel or paver grid piece stops sitting flush after a few seasons of sun and soil movement. We stock common Toto-compatible paver and drainage components on the truck and can match OEM or quality aftermarket equivalents to your existing layout the same day we look at it.
Which Toto Models This Applies To
Toto is best known for plumbing fixtures, but in the driveway and paver world the brand’s name shows up in two places: Toto-branded drainage channels and trench drains that integrate with paver driveways, and third-party paver systems frequently paired with Toto outdoor fixtures in Los Angeles homes. Before you buy anything, check the underside of your existing paver or the end cap of your drain channel for a stamped model code. Toto drain channels come in 1-meter and 2-meter lengths with either polymer concrete or stainless steel grates, and the grate width (usually 4 inches or 6 inches) must match what you already have, or you’ll get a lip that catches toes and tires. When we quote a Toto driveway or paver job, we always confirm the load class too: a channel rated for pedestrian traffic won’t survive a daily parking load in a Los Angeles driveway, no matter how clean the install looks. OEM Toto parts cost more and match exactly. Quality aftermarket equivalents from brands we carry, like NDS and ACO, often cost 20-30% less and hold up just as well, but we’ll show you both numbers before ordering anything.

Signs Your Toto Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Paver sinking or dipping in one spot. Almost always a base failure underneath, not a bad paver. In Los Angeles, expansive clay soil swells with winter rain and shrinks in summer, which is why we see more settled pavers in neighborhoods like Sherman Oaks and Mid-City than anywhere else in the county.
- Cracks radiating from a single paver. Point loading from a car tire or a tree root underneath. The cracked paver usually can’t be saved, but swapping it takes under an hour if you have spares or we can match the color lot.
- Toto drain channel no longer sits flush. The channel body has shifted or the plastic locking clips that hold the grate have snapped. Water pools instead of draining, and in a heavy Los Angeles rain that means runoff heading toward your garage or foundation.
- Grate rattles or lifts when you walk on it. Broken locking tabs on the grate or a channel that’s been run over one too many times. Left alone, the grate will eventually crack and the opening becomes a trip hazard.
- White chalky residue on paver edges. Efflorescence: mineral salts pushing through from moisture trapped in the paver’s pores. It’s cosmetic and cleanable, but it tells you drainage under the pavers isn’t moving water the way it should.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For paver repair work only, Los Angeles homeowners should expect to pay roughly $826 – $2,124 to reset a small section, replace broken pavers, and recompact the base. Full paver driveway installation runs $8,260 – $21,240 depending on square footage, paver grade, and whether we’re cutting around existing concrete or starting fresh. Concrete driveway installation runs $5,310 – $14,160, asphalt paving $4,130 – $10,620, and a full driveway replacement lands between $5,900 and $16,520. Every Mason Remodeling Co Los Angeles quote is a written price delivered before any work starts. It covers parts, labor, haul-away of the old material, and cleanup. No change orders, no vague verbal estimates that inflate after the first day. We explain what’s included and what’s not, in writing, before you sign anything.
DIY or Call Us?
You can absolutely check a few things yourself. Walk your Toto drain channel and press each grate end with your foot. If one side rocks, it’s either a broken clip or the channel bed has settled. You can also mist your pavers with water and watch whether it beads or soaks in, which tells you whether the sealer is still doing its job. What we don’t recommend is prying up pavers yourself to “take a look.” Once you break the edge restraint or disturb the compacted base, you’ve turned a $300 repair into a $3,000 recompact and relay. Pavers and channels also get heavy, and if you’re working a drainage channel near the garage slab, the wrong slope means water pools against your foundation instead of away from it. If you’re not sure what you’re looking at, call us at (213) 632-5711 and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth a visit.
FAQs

Properly installed concrete pavers on a compacted base typically last 25 – 50 years in Los Angeles, with the paver itself outlasting the base by a wide margin. What fails first here isn’t the paver; it’s the base settling, the edge restraint loosening, or the sealer wearing off after 3 – 5 years of direct sun. A well-built base gives you decades. Call (213) 632-5711 and we’ll tell you whether your pavers need replacement or just a reset.
Yes, in most cases we can reset sunken pavers, replace broken clips in Toto drain grates, and re-slope a channel without replacing the entire run. Full replacement only makes sense when the paver is cracked through, the channel body itself is split, or the underlying base has failed completely. We’ll show you the damaged part before we recommend replacing anything.
A typical paver reset or Toto channel swap takes 4 – 8 hours on site, and you can park on it the next day. Full driveway replacements run 3 – 5 working days depending on square footage and whether we need to regrade. We’ll give you a schedule in writing before the first tool comes off the truck.
We stock common Toto-compatible channel grates, locking clips, paver edge restraints, and sealer on the truck, and we can source model-specific Toto parts through our supplier network within 2 – 3 business days. We also carry KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone components for interior work, so if your project crosses from the driveway to the kitchen, we can handle both. Call (213) 632-5711 for exact availability.
