Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
A Caesarstone home addition or ADU in Los Angeles typically runs $53,100 to $153,400, depending on square footage, site prep, and how much of the Caesarstone surface goes into the finished space. We stock Caesarstone slabs and matching fabrication materials for kitchen counters, bath vanities, and island tops inside new additions and detached ADUs across LA County, and we can usually start within two to three weeks of your written estimate. Most owners call us after discovering their existing Caesarstone counter or backsplash was installed wrong during a previous remodel, or they’re planning an ADU and want the counters specified correctly the first time.
What we see most often: someone builds an addition, the general contractor subbed out the Caesarstone fabrication to the lowest bidder, and now the seams are opening, the overhang is unsupported, or the edge profile doesn’t match the Caesarstone series they paid for. If that’s you, the fix is not a mystery. It’s a re-fabrication or a proper re-install, and we do both.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

We work with every Caesarstone quartz series currently sold in the Los Angeles market, including the Supernatural, Metropolitan, Pebble, and Classico collections, plus discontinued colors we can still source through our fabrication partners. The model number matters less than three measurements: slab thickness (typically 2 cm or 3 cm), edge profile (eased, pencil, bevel, or mitered), and the exact color code printed on the back of the slab or on your original order invoice. That third one trips people up. Caesarstone color codes change slightly between production runs, and a “Pure White 1141” from 2016 is not always a perfect match to a “Pure White 1141” slab cut in 2024. We always order the new surface from the same dye lot when patching or extending an existing Caesarstone run.
For ADUs and additions, we also check substrate compatibility. Caesarstone quartz is heavy, about 18 to 22 pounds per square foot for a 3 cm slab, and Los Angeles building code requires specific cabinet reinforcement under any island overhang beyond 10 inches. That’s a checkable specific most contractors skip. We don’t.
On the OEM versus aftermarket question: for Caesarstone-branded surfaces, always use genuine Caesarstone slabs. Aftermarket quartz from other manufacturers will never match the resin ratio or pigment depth, and the seam will read instantly. For supporting components like sink rails, mounting brackets, and edge trim, we use professional-grade equivalents that meet or exceed the Caesarstone fabrication spec, and we’ll show you the exact product before it’s installed.

Signs Your Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- Seams widening or discoloring at the joint. Quartz expands and contracts with Los Angeles temperature swings, and if the original installer used the wrong adhesive or clamped the seam under tension, the joint starts to open. You’ll feel a ridge with your fingernail.
- Sagging island overhang. Any Caesarstone overhang past 10 inches without steel brackets or a corbel support will eventually flex. In older Los Angeles ADUs, we regularly see 14-inch and 16-inch overhangs with zero support underneath, and the slab starts to bow within two to three years.
- Chipping at the sink cutout. This happens when the fabricator over-tightens the sink clips or cuts the opening too close to the front edge. Once a chip forms, it only grows with daily pot-and-pan contact.
- Water staining or rust-colored marks under the counter edge. Not a Caesarstone defect. It’s a steel sink rail or bracket that was never sealed and is now bleeding rust through the seam line.
- Dull spots that won’t polish out. Caesarstone quartz is non-porous and never needs sealing, but harsh cleaners with high alkaline content can etch the resin binder. A cloudy patch in one area while the rest of the top shines usually means someone scrubbed it with the wrong chemical.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Caesarstone re-fabrication for a kitchen or ADU addition in Los Angeles runs $2,360 to $7,670 for the countertop itself, with the total addition or ADU project landing between $53,100 and $153,400 depending on scope. If you only need the existing Caesarstone counter pulled, re-cut, polished, and re-installed, you’re typically looking at $1,500 to $4,500 for a standard kitchen footprint.
Every quote includes the slab, template and fabrication, edge profile, sink cutout, delivery, and a two-person install crew. We write the full price before we start, with no change orders unless you change the scope. The work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right within a year of completion, we fix it at no cost.
DIY or Call Us?
Caesarstone quartz slabs are heavy, brittle at the corners, and unforgiving to amateur cutting. A single wrong move with a circular saw ruins a $900 slab, and the dust from cutting engineered quartz contains silica that requires proper respirator protection. This is not a weekend project. What you can safely do yourself: photograph the color code on the back of the slab if you can access it, measure your current overhang and thickness with a tape measure, and check underneath for missing support brackets. That information alone will save you a service call fee.
Everything past that, call us. We’ll send a fabricator who works with Caesarstone daily, not a handyman who’s “pretty sure” he can match the edge. Reach Isaac Pruett’s team at (213) 632-5711 for a free estimate, and know who’s coming before anyone shows up.
FAQs

A properly installed and supported Caesarstone surface lasts 25 years or more in Southern California conditions, with the caveat that direct, all-day sun exposure on an outdoor kitchen will fade the pigment over 10 to 15 years. Indoor installations hold their color and finish essentially indefinitely. Call (213) 632-5711 for an honest assessment of your existing top before you replace anything.
Yes, if the damage is a surface chip, minor seam separation, or polish dulling. No, if the slab is cracked through, sagging from inadequate support, or has a water-damaged substrate underneath. In about two-thirds of the Los Angeles Caesarstone jobs we see, the counter itself is salvageable and the problem is the installation, not the stone. We’ll tell you which one applies to you at the free estimate.
From template to finished installation, most Los Angeles Caesarstone counter projects take 5 to 10 business days. The template appointment takes about an hour, fabrication runs 3 to 5 days, and the install crew needs 4 to 6 hours on site. For full additions and ADUs, timeline scales with the build scope, and we’ll give you a written schedule before the first saw starts.
We maintain working relationships with the major Caesarstone distribution yards serving Los Angeles County, which means we can pull most current colors within 48 hours and many discontinued ones with a one-week search. You don’t pay a showroom markup or coordinate delivery yourself. We handle the slab selection, inspection, and transport, and you see the exact slab before we cut it.
