Toto Kitchen Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide
A full Toto kitchen remodeling project in Los Angeles typically runs $16,520 – $53,100 installed, and we stock Toto-compatible fixtures and parts for same-week installation in most cases. If you’re reading this, you probably have a Toto faucet that’s started dripping, a Toto sink that’s showing hairline cracks, or a Toto fixture that never quite seated right from the start. Most Los Angeles homeowners discover the failure the same way: a slow leak under the cabinet, a finish that’s flaking around the base, or water that pools where it never used to.
We’re Mason Remodeling Co Los Angeles, an independent remodeling and installation company. We’re not affiliated with Toto, but we work with their products daily and stock the common failure parts our Los Angeles customers actually need.
Which Toto Models This Applies To

Toto’s kitchen line in the U.S. market centers on the Clayton, Essence, and Aimes series, plus the newer Clipped and Studio collections. The compatibility gotcha most Los Angeles homeowners run into: Toto changed cartridge and supply-line thread specs between the pre-2016 and post-2016 production runs, so a cartridge from a 2014 Clayton won’t seat correctly in a 2019 model, even though the faucet looks identical from the outside.
Here’s how to identify what you need. Look under the sink at the supply line connection. Pre-2016 Toto kitchen faucets use 9/16-inch compression fittings on the hot and cold inlets; post-2016 models use a 3/8-inch quick-connect with a taller shank. That one measurement tells us which cartridge kit, which O-ring set, and which mounting hardware we need on the truck before we arrive.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Toto specifically: Toto OEM cartridges are ceramic-disc and hold up well in Los Angeles water, but they cost 40 – 60% more than quality aftermarket equivalents. Our position is straightforward. For anything that touches water sealing, we recommend Toto OEM parts. For trim, handles, aerators, and supply lines, a quality aftermarket part performs equally well and saves you real money.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Toto Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Dripping from the spout after full shutoff. This is almost always a worn ceramic disc inside the cartridge. In Los Angeles, our hard water accelerates mineral scoring on the disc surfaces, and once they’re scored, they’ll never seal perfectly again. This is a cartridge replacement, not a faucet replacement.
- Water pooling around the base of the faucet. The O-ring between the faucet body and the deck has flattened out. This is common in Los Angeles kitchens where the faucet sits in direct afternoon sun and the rubber hardens faster than in other climates. The fix is a 15-minute O-ring swap and re-bedding the faucet with fresh plumber’s putty.
- Loose or floppy handle with intermittent temperature control. The handle set-screw backed off, or the cartridge stem is wearing. If you can turn the handle without resistance, the internal stops are gone. Continuing to use it only grinds the stem further.
- Sprayer head won’t retract or drips in the docked position. The weight on the hose has slipped, or the diverter inside the spray head is clogged with mineral scale. Los Angeles accounts for some of the hardest municipal water in California, and Toto spray heads need de-scaling about every 18 months.
- Reduced flow that doesn’t improve after cleaning the aerator. If you’ve cleaned the aerator and flow is still weak, the supply line screens at the valve are packed with sediment. This is the silent issue we find most often during Los Angeles kitchen remodels: the lines look fine from outside, but inside they’re half-blocked.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Toto-specific kitchen remodeling in Los Angeles, here’s what you should expect to pay installed:
- Full kitchen remodel with Toto fixtures: $16,520 – $53,100
- Toto faucet or fixture replacement (parts and labor): $470 – $1,200 per fixture, depending on model and whether new supply lines are needed
- Toto sink installation or swap: $590 – $1,480
- Cartridge or O-ring service call: $295 – $590 including parts
The spread comes down to three things: which Toto series you own, whether we’re working around existing countertops or cutting new ones, and condition of the supply lines and shutoff valves under the sink. If your shutoff valves are original and corroded, we’ll quote the replacement separately and show you the old valve before we discard it.
Every line item is written. You get the price before we unload a single tool, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise covers our installation work for a full year from completion. If a part we installed fails inside that window, we come back and fix it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
A Toto faucet or sink part is generally safe to inspect yourself, and we’d rather you catch a failing cartridge early than wait for a cabinet flood. You can shut off the angle stops under the sink, check for a tight seal, and clean the aerator without risk.
Where DIY goes wrong in Los Angeles kitchens is almost always the same story: the old shutoff valve is frozen and snaps off in the wall, or a homeowner forces a pre-2016 cartridge into a post-2016 body and cracks the valve housing. The second one turns a $300 service call into a $700 faucet replacement. If you’re unsure which generation your Toto fixture is, call us at (213) 632-5711 and describe what you see under the sink. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s a safe job or one for a trained tech. You’ll have a written price before we send anyone out.
FAQs

In Los Angeles water conditions, a Toto kitchen faucet with OEM ceramic cartridges typically lasts 12 – 18 years before the cartridge needs replacement, though the finish may show wear sooner in homes with hard water or direct sun exposure on the fixture. The cartridge itself is usually the first component to go, and replacing it before it starts dripping will extend the fixture’s life by years.
Yes, most Toto kitchen failures are repairable with a cartridge, O-ring, or diverter replacement, and that repair usually costs $295 – $590 including the part and labor in Los Angeles. Full replacement only makes sense when the faucet body is cracked, the finish has failed across a large surface, or you’re remodeling the kitchen anyway and want a different style. Call (213) 632-5711 for an honest read on which path makes sense for your fixture.
A standard cartridge or O-ring replacement on a Toto kitchen faucet takes 45 – 90 minutes in a Los Angeles home with accessible shutoff valves. If we need to replace shutoff valves or run new supply lines, plan for a half-day. We’ll give you a firm time window when we quote the job, and we show up when we say we will.
We stock Toto OEM and aftermarket cartridges, O-rings, aerators, spray heads, and supply line fittings for both pre-2016 and post-2016 Toto kitchen series, covering the Clayton, Essence, Aimes, Clipped, and Studio lines. For more unusual trim pieces or discontinued finishes, we source directly through our fixture partners, including Toto’s supply network, and we’ll give you a lead time before we schedule the visit.
If you have a Toto fixture that’s not behaving in your Los Angeles kitchen, start with a phone call. Know who’s coming, know what it costs, know it’s guaranteed, everything else is just noise. Call (213) 632-5711 and you’ll get a live person, not a call tree, and a written price before any work starts.
